Extracted text
How it works
Three quick steps — no uploads, no accounts, nothing to install.
Add your image
Drop a photo, screenshot or scan into the box, pick one from your device, or paste it straight from your clipboard.
Pick the language
Choose English, Urdu, or both. The OCR engine runs entirely on your device and reads the text out of the image.
Copy or download
Edit the recognised text if you like, then copy it to your clipboard or save it as a .txt file.
Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before you start.
Is this image to text tool really free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no limits and no watermarks. The OCR runs on your own device using the open-source Tesseract engine, so there is no server cost to pass on to you.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Your image never leaves your device. The recognition happens 100% in your browser, so private documents, ID cards and personal photos stay private. The only download is the OCR language data the first time you use a language.
Which languages are supported?
English and Urdu, including images that mix both. Urdu text is shown right-to-left in the result box, ready to copy into any app or document.
Why is the first extraction slower?
On first use, your browser downloads the OCR engine's language data (a few MB) from the Tesseract CDN. After that it is cached, so later extractions start almost instantly.
How can I get more accurate results?
Use a clear, sharp image with the text straight and well lit. Avoid heavy shadows, glare and very small or handwritten text — printed text in good light gives the best accuracy.
