Background removal happens on this device

How it works

Three steps, all on your phone or computer — nothing is sent anywhere.

1
Add a photoPick a JPG, PNG or WebP, or drag & drop it in.
2
AI cuts it outAn on-device AI model finds the subject and lifts it off the old background.
3
Pick the new sceneA passport colour, a gradient, or your own photo — sized and ready to download.
Your photos never leave your device

The cut-out and the compositing both run entirely in this browser tab using an AI model that downloads once from a public library CDN. Neither your photo nor your background photo is ever uploaded to any server.

Questions

Is this really free?

Yes — no sign-up, no credits, no watermark, and no limit on downloads. The processing happens on your own device, so it costs nothing to run.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Both photos are processed locally in your browser and never sent to a server. Only the AI model files (about 40 MB) are downloaded once from a public CDN the first time you use the tool.

What is the Passport 35×45 size?

It's the standard ID-photo size — 35 mm × 45 mm, exported at 413 × 531 pixels (300 dpi). Pick the white or passport-blue background, set the size to Passport, use the zoom slider to frame the head and shoulders, and download.

Which photos work best?

Photos with a clear subject — a person, pet, product or car — and a background that contrasts with it. For a photo background, landscape-style pictures that are at least as big as your subject photo look sharpest.

PNG or JPG — which should I download?

PNG is the sharpest and is best for ID photos and printing. JPG makes a much smaller file, which is handy for sharing and uploading to forms with size limits.
