Quick answers about this tool.
The standard way: every 5 correct characters count as one “word”. Your WPM is (correct characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutes typed. Only correct characters count, so fast-but-sloppy typing does not inflate the score.
The average person types around 35–45 WPM. Office workers often reach 50–70 WPM, and trained typists exceed 80 WPM. Accuracy matters just as much — aim for 95% or higher.
To keep scores honest. A pasted paragraph would make the test meaningless, so the typing box only accepts real keystrokes.
As often as you like. Use Restart for the same text, or New text to shuffle to a different paragraph.
Completely. The test runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded, stored, or shared.
