Quick answers about this tool.
No. The image is decoded entirely inside your browser, on your device. It is never uploaded to a server — you can even check by scanning while offline (after the page has loaded once).
QR codes need to be reasonably sharp and fully visible. Try a closer, better-lit photo, avoid glare and blur, and make sure the whole code — including its quiet white border — is inside the frame.
Camera scanning needs your permission: allow camera access when the browser asks, or check the site settings in your browser. On some browsers the camera only works on secure (https) pages. You can always use the upload option instead — it works everywhere.
Any standard QR code: website links, Wi-Fi details, contact cards, payment codes and plain text. The decoded content is shown as text; links also get an Open button.
No — this page is the scanner. It works in the browser on phones, tablets and computers with nothing to install.
